Three studies on aviation occurrences contribute to aviation safety
The Safety Office of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ASSOP/ANAC) released three specific studies of the Final Reports published by the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (Cenipa) that aim to verify patterns in aviation occurrences, identify trends, latent conditions and active failures that allow establishing actions to reduce the number of these types of occurrences.
The initiative is linked to ANAC’s Safety Supervision Plan 2020-2022 and to the Safety Plan for Brazilian Aviation 2019-2022, a document that defines, under the Brazilian Program for Civil Aviation Safety (PSO-BR), objectives and specific actions regarding safety. It is also aligned with international initiatives such as the South American Safety Plan (SAMSP) and the Global Aviation Safety Plan (GASP).
One of the five goals seek to reduce accidents and incidents in all segments of civil aviation to an acceptable level, by establishing a strategy for better implementation of the GASP-BR. The aim is to diminish the number of occurrences categorized as “high operational risk”. The selection of the categories of occurrences, considered as high operational risk, is based on the number of accidents and serious incidents recorded by Cenipa.
Besides the reports, it is possible to access the panels (built in BI) with the information associated with the respective occurrences considered in each of the pieces. The files and panels (listed below) can be seen on the page Reports of Analysis of Occurrences, available on the ANAC website (in Portuguese only).
