The presentation of an Aeronautical Medical Certificate (CMA) issued outside the country may be one more possibility available to Brazilian pilots, by means of document convalidation. The initiative, which is part of the civil aviation modernization program, Voo Simples, and the Agency’s Regulatory Agenda 2021/2022, aims to expand the service to aeronauts.
The proposal includes an amendment to the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC n. 67) and a revision of the Supplementary Instruction (IS n. 67-002), which is under public consultation for 45 days, since June 11. In addition to opening the possibility of validating the CMA, the proposal brings other updates of nomenclatures and procedures to simplify the understanding by the regulated ones.
The CMA aims to periodically certify the pilot’s psychophysical capacity and is valid for six to sixty months, depending on the license specifications and the pilot’s age.
The documents submitted for consultation can be accessed on the public consultation page (avaliable only in Portuguese). Contributions must be sent to the Agency using the appropriate electronic form, available at the address indicated, by July 28, 2021.
