The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) informs that it is monitoring maintenance to be performed on Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, due to possible changes in the electrical system of some aircraft. This problem affects only one aircraft of the Brazilian fleet, which is already out of operation for maintenance.
This communication was directed to the Agency on September 4th by Boeing, the company GOL Linhas Aéreas, aircraft operator, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and is part of a strict monitoring process aimed at ensuring the safety of operations. According to the information received, this occurrence is not related to the flight control system, which was revised in 2019 and 2020.
The return of the aircraft to operations will only occur after all corrective actions are applied and validated.
ANAC is following the case, in close contact with the American aviation authority, the FAA, with the manufacturer Boeing and with the company GOL Linhas Aéreas.
