ANAC extends flexibilization of slot usage rule for W21 coordination season
In view of the still significant impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the aviation industry, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) extended the measure that abolishes the cancellation of slots (landing and taking off times at coordinated airports) from the calculation of the regularity index for obtaining historic rights by airlines. By applying specific conditions and rules, the rule will also be in effect for the Winter 2021 season (W21), from October 31, 2021 to March 26, 2022.
The exemption applies only to historic slots, provided they are returned up to 4 weeks before the operation. All other slots allocated to airlines will be monitored as provided in Resolution N. 338/2014, both for the purposes of granting the historic slot for the next equivalent season (W22) and for promoting good use of the airport infrastructure.
