Note from the Civil Aviation National Agency (ANAC) to the Brazilian Aeronautical Community about the Brexit and the Applicability of the Technical Cooperation Agreements (TIP and MAG) between ANAC and EASA to organizations in the United Kingdom
The Agreement about the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union was signed on January 24th, 2020 and will come into force on February 1st, 2020. Pursuant to Article 126 of the Agreement there will be a transition period until December 31st, 2020, during which the European Union Law, including its International Agreements, will remain applicable to the United Kingdom, pursuant to Articles 2(a)iv, 4(1), 127(1) and 129(1) of the Agreement. During the transition period the European Aviation Safety Agency – EASA will hold its responsibilities and attributions to the United Kingdom as it holds to the EU Member States.
With the intent to provide clarification and certainty to all its regulated entities, the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) informs that the Technical Cooperation Agreements TIP (Technical Implementation Procedures) and MAG (Maintenance Annex Guidance) in place between ANAC and EASA continue to be valid and applicable to all organizations in the United Kingdom, without any changes to the procedures nor additional considerations, during the transition period established between the European Union and the United Kingdom for the Brexit. Furthermore, ANAC clarifies that the Agency is acting with the United Kingdom authorities to assure the continuity of all services and activities practiced under the terms of the current Agreement in any future scenario for the United Kingdom after the transition in December 31st 2020.
