The inspection and checking of agricultural products and inputs upon entry to Brazil are performed by the Ministry of Agriculture through its International Agricultural Surveillance System (VIGIAGRO). The health procedures and requirements are specific to each type of product, animal or animal species and they may vary according to the country of origin and the purpose of the importation. Health Requirements
Pay attention to the information on the health requirements regarding the importing of animal products, material for scientific research, live animals and similar. These requirements vary according to the animal species or the imported product and country of origin, and they are either temporary or permanent. Check the requirements before shipping any product or live animal to Brazil.
Queries on these health requirements may be submitted directly to the System for Animal Information and Certificates (SISREC) or to the Coordination Office for Animal Transit and Quarantine (CTQA), of the Department of Animal Health, of the Secretariat of Animal and Plant Health (SDA), at ctqa@agricultura.gov.br.
