Plant products export
The exporter must comply with a series of steps in order to export plants, plant products, by-products, and residues. In the context of plant health (plant pests and diseases), it is necessary to comply with the existing phytosanitary requirements and obtain a phytosanitary certification.
For some plant products (fruits, vegetables, grains, fibers, etc.), regardless of whether there is a need for phytosanitary documentation, there may be measures to be met regarding their quality, identity, and safety such as labeling rules, registration, and hygiene and sanitary certification. This also includes beverages, acetic fermented beverages, wines, and grape and wine products that have specific export certification criteria.
In the context of agricultural inputs, each group is ruled by specific legislation and it is important to pay attention to the required documentation and related procedures.
These export operations may be checked by the international agricultural surveillance, also responsible for the inspection of agricultural transit in ports, airports, border control points within the national territory.
