Registration and Eligibility of Establishments
Animal product establishments engaging in international trading, and under federal inspection, are classified as being for:
- meat and meat products;
- fish and fish products;
- eggs and egg products;
- milk and dairy products;
- bee products and byproducts;
- storage; and
- inedible products.

A company interested in an export market should first obtain the establishment registration with the Federal Inspection Service (SIF in Portuguese) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA), which attests to suitable health, technical and legal conditions of the facilities and the steps of the production process. Once registration has been granted, the company should request approval for exporting from the Department of Inspection of Animal Products (DIPOA), of the Secretariat of Animal and Plant Health (SDA) of MAPA, according to the operating procedures approved by Normative Instruction 27/2008.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
It is essential to check the entire content of circulars, memorandum and official letters on the Bulletin Board of SIGSIF (the SIF's system). Countries or products not listed on the form do not possess a bilateral health agreement that has been signed. Establishments interested in selling their products to these markets should check with the importer the possibility of exporting, according to the guidelines of Memorandum no. 67/2015/GAB/DIPOA.
