Live animals
IMPORTANT NOTICE - If you want to know about pets, CLICK HERE
Pets and animals intended for commercial production are included in the live animals category. Export means the egress of these animals from the territory of Brazil to any other territory abroad, even if not on a permanent basis.
For such exporting, animals must be accompanied by the International Zoosanitary Certificate (CZI) certifying animal health, issued after health inspection or tests for the diagnosis of diseases. The animal’s health condition is checked through periodic follow-up by a veterinarian and proof of vaccination and laboratory tests legally required; conditions of facilities for the performance of the activity; use of appropriate inputs (such as feed free of animal products and banned hormones and anabolic substances); and records of the activity. The International Zoosanitary Certificate (CZI) is issued by the Department of Animal Health of the Secretariat of Animal and Plant Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).
All the information on the necessary documentation and the procedures required for the export of these animals to be authorized is given here. Information on animal breeding material and hunting trophies and taxidermy is also given in this section.
