New agricultural market access for Brazil in Vietnam

The Brazilian government is pleased to announce Vietnam's approval of the International Sanitary Certificate, allowing the export of salted bovine hides from Brazil.

Salted bovine hides are essential to Vietnam’s leather industry, which plays a key role in producing footwear, furniture, and accessories. This approval meets the growing demand for high-quality materials in these strategic sectors, which are critical to Vietnam's economy and export performance.

This development further strengthens trade ties with Vietnam, Brazil’s fifth-largest agribusiness export destination in 2024. Between January and November 2024, Vietnam imported more than USD 3.51 billion in Brazilian agricultural products.

Since the beginning of President Lula’s administration in 2023, Brazil has successfully opened 303 new markets across 62 countries.

These achievements reflect the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring Brazil's commitment to expanding its global trade presence.
