Market access for Brazilian agricultural products in the Eurasian Union, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand
The Brazilian government is pleased to announce new authorizations from various countries enabling the export of additional Brazilian agricultural products.
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)—comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia—has approved the import of bananas and nuts from Brazil. In 2024, Brazil exported over USD 1.3 billion in agricultural products to the EAEU.
In Saudi Arabia, new opportunities have emerged with the approval for exporting yerba mate and macadamia nuts. Brazilian agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia surpassed USD 2.3 billion in 2024.
Thailand has also expanded its market access for Brazilian products, approving the import of fishmeal and fish oil—high-protein, energy-rich products with versatile industrial applications. Between January and November 2024, Thailand imported over USD 2.7 billion in agricultural goods from Brazil.
These developments highlight the Brazilian government’s commitment to diversifying its export portfolio and strengthening commercial ties with global partners. They also underscore international confidence in Brazil's robust sanitary and phytosanitary systems.
With these announcements, Brazilian agribusiness achieved 221 new market access opportunities in 2024, bringing the total to 299 new business openings since early 2023.
These results stem from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
