Brazil authorized to export Porcine Pepsin to Mexico
The Brazilian government has further expanded its agribusiness sector by receiving authorization from the Mexican government to export porcine pepsin to Mexico.
Porcine pepsin, an animal-derived product, is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries as an ingredient for nutritional supplements and processed foods.
In the first four months of 2024, Mexico imported over $1.01 billion in agricultural products from Brazil, making it the ninth-largest destination for Brazilian exports in this sector. The main products exported were soybeans, cereals, and meat.
This announcement adds to other market access achievements for Brazil in Mexico this year. In January, Brazil gained approval to export donkey genetic material, and in early May, it received authorization to export poultry and fish oil for animal feed.
These results are the outcome of coordinated efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
