Brazil secures market access in Angola, South Korea and Russia
The Brazilian government has received announcements from Angola and South Korea regarding the approval for the import of Brazilian mate herb, as well as from Russia for the import of sheep embryos.
These new market accesses are expected to boost trade with these key destinations and further reinforce international confidence in Brazil’s sanitary control system.
In the first eight months of 2024, Brazil exported approximately US$ 3 billion in agricultural products to these three countries. South Korea ranks as the 12th largest destination for Brazilian exports, totaling US$ 1.87 billion. Exports to Russia reached US$ 847 million by August, while Angola imported US$ 245 million worth of Brazilian goods.
With these new approvals, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 122nd market access in 2024, bringing the total to 200 new opportunities across 59 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
