Brazil celebrates two new market accesses in Chinese Taipei in 2024
The Brazilian government has received sanitary approval from Chinese Taipei for the export of non-conventional pet foods derived from dairy products and non-conventional pet foods derived from cloven-hoofed animals or birds.
The market for non-conventional pet foods includes species such as turtles, parrots, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, and others. This approval allows Brazil to expand its dairy product exports, catering to a specific and growing segment in the global pet food market. Cloven-hoofed animals are those with hooves split into two, such as cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs.
Chinese Taipei is an important destination for Brazilian agricultural products, with exports totaling $1.64 billion in 2023. The main items exported were cereals, flour and preparations, and soybean and its byproducts. In the first half of this year, exports amounted to $712 million.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 88th market access this year, totaling 166 accesses in 55 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
