Brazil celebrates third market access in Costa Rica in 2024
The Brazilian government has received authorization from the Costa Rican government to export avocados to that country.
This is the third market access for Costa Rica in 2024, which is expected to increase trade flow between the two countries and reflect international confidence in Brazil's national sanitary control system.
Costa Rica is an important destination for Brazilian agribusiness products. In the first half of this year, Brazil's agricultural exports to this market totaled $153 million.
In February, Brazil obtained access to the Costa Rican market to export therapeutic products based on mesenchymal stem cells from dogs, cats, and horses. In July, the market was accessed for the export of live horses.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness reaches its 89th market access this year, totaling 167 accesses in 55 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
