Brazil celebrates third market access granted by the Philippines in six months
The Brazilian government has received sanitary approval from the Philippines for the export of ornamental fish from Brazil.
This is the third market access granted by the Philippines in the past six months, following the authorization for the export of tilapia fingerlings (juvenile fish) and animal recycling products granted in January of this year.
In 2023, the Philippines imported over USD 907 million in Brazilian agribusiness products, with beef, poultry, and pork being the main highlights, accounting for 66% of that total. From January to May of this year, more than USD 594 million worth of products have been exported.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 69th market access this year, totaling 147 accesses in 51 countries since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements are the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
