Brazil celebrates new market access in Indonesia
Indonesia has granted authorization to the Brazilian government to export yerba mate from Brazil to the Asian country. The leading producers in Brazil are the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná.
In 2023, Brazilian agricultural exports to Indonesia surpassed $3.69 billion, with 74% of this amount coming from the soybean and sugar-alcohol sectors. In just the first seven months of this year, Brazil has already exported over $2.44 billion in agricultural products to Indonesia.
This new authorization marks the 100th market access achieved by Brazilian agribusiness in 2024, bringing the total to 178 accesses across 58 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements are the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
