Brazil celebrates market access in Angola, Australia, Canada, and Thailand
The Brazilian government has successfully secured sanitary approvals from Angola, Australia, Canada, and Thailand. These new authorizations allow for the export of Brazilian pecan nuts to Thailand and dried distillers' grains (DDG or DDGS) to Angola, Canada, and Australia.
These new market accesses will boost trade flows to these important markets, further solidifying international confidence in Brazil's sanitary control system.
In the first seven months of 2024, Brazil exported over $2.77 billion in agricultural products to these four countries. Thailand was the ninth-largest destination for Brazilian exports, totaling $1.8 billion. Meanwhile, agricultural exports to Canada, Angola, and Australia amounted to $604 million, $211 million, and $159 million, respectively.
With these new authorizations, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 110th market access in 2024, bringing the overall total to 188 market accesses across 58 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
This achievement is the result of collaborative efforts between Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
