Brazil celebrates fourth market access in Turkey in 2024
The Brazilian government has received authorization from the Turkish government to export bovine heparin, an animal-derived byproduct used in the production of medications and medical devices due to its anticoagulant properties.
Earlier, in May 2024, Turkey had already granted Brazil permission to export non-edible gelatin and collagen, egg products, and animal feed-grade viscera.
Turkey was the 13th largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports in 2023, with Brazil exporting $2.42 billion worth of products, primarily soy complex products, textiles, and coffee. In the first seven months of this year, Brazilian agribusiness has already exported over $2.16 billion to Turkey.
With this new authorization, Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 101st market access of the year, bringing the total to 179 accesses across 58 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements are the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
