Brazil celebrates fourth market access in Mexico in 2024
The Brazilian government has received authorization from the Mexican government for Brazil to export avian genetic material (day-old chicks) to that country. In 2023, Mexico imported over USD 850,000 worth of this product, demonstrating the potential of this market for Brazil.
This new market access complements previously obtained authorizations for exports to Mexico of donkey genetic material, porcine pepsin, poultry oil, and fish oil for animal feed.
In the first five months of the year, Mexico imported over USD 1.3 billion in agricultural products from Brazil, making it the eighth-largest destination for Brazilian exports in the sector. Soy complex products, forestry products, and meats are among the main goods exported by Brazil.
In 2024, Brazil has accessed 73 markets in 30 countries, totaling 151 new markets in 52 countries since the beginning of 2023.
These achievements result from the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
