Observatory of International Development Cooperation (OCID)
The OCID was developed for the purpose of providing access to different categories of information produced in recent decades in the field of international cooperation. It is to be used as a virtual library and includes documentation from government sources and international organizations, access to statistical data, listings of international players, sources of funding for development, technical and academic publications, in addition to records on events on the subject.
This Observatory is characteristic for being a depository of dynamic cumulative information to be accessed and consulted in four languages (Portuguese, Spanish, English and French).
The OCID target audience includes foreign governments, international organizations, think-tanks, philanthropic entities, that is, funds or Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs), as well as researchers, among other possible types of users.
The OCID plays an important role for Brazil as it is a tool to support the efforts of the international community in the democratization of access and the broadening of the knowledge base generated in the past, present and future in the field of international development cooperation.
The flexible modelling of OCID allows for a continuous incorporation of information and data from different sources. The Observatory will undoubtedly arouse the widespread interest of people consulting or contributing with their own contents.
