Bilateral Cooperation Received
Bilateral cooperation is a segment of technical cooperation received from abroad, which is implemented through the establishment of partnerships with developed countries. The techniques that have been shared and the new knowledge acquired have contributed significantly to the progress of Brazil.
Since its establishment, ABC has been mainly engaging in cooperation initiatives with the following developed countries: Germany, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom.
ABC regularly receives requests from Brazilian institutions wishing to improve the knowledge they have in specific areas. Such requests are examined and passed on to cooperation agencies in developed countries.
Such cooperation initiatives have contributed to increasing the number of institutions of excellence capable of designing policies, and disseminating results, knowledge and technology throughout the national territory, such as the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA, acronym in Portuguese), the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ, acronym in Portuguese) and the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO, acronym in Portuguese).
